How was it allowed to happen ?

Back in the late Eighties three engineering students, at the then Leeds Poly, were desperately trying to find a way of avoiding any kind of work whatsoever and patently hit on the idea of making a great deal of noise by manipulating various musical instruments. 'Twas at this point that Simon, Tim & Iain formed what the history books will refer to as The Original Gravity Band.

Originally the vocalisations were supplied by one Kevin Dobson whose whereabouts today are not known. Stories of alien abduction are completely made up for the purposes of this bio and it's more likely that we just lost touch. (Kev, if you read this, give us a bell, I'm sure you owe us all money!).

Soon the services of Mr.Adrian Peever were enlisted after Simon's glowing report that "he sings a bit ". Even though he was from Crewe we didn't hold this against him and asked if he would be interested in fronting the band. Pressure was relieved from his throat just enough to allow him to say "err, yeah" & the rest is, as they, say history.

The band embarked on a relentless world tour over the next few years (mainly in the Leeds & Crewe areas) which saw them grace the stages of many venues such as the 'never-to-be-forgotten' Duchess of York (RIP), the Eagle Tavern (Hello Les!) Always worth seeing the band supporting Les' incredibly passionate version of 'High Heeled Sneakers'. and, of course, The Grove.

Eventually after many years of happy gigging Ade decided to explore the New world and since the early Nineties has been trying to teach the yanks English over in Miami. (They still can't spell 'colour' by the way Ade !)
